The Hinton girls track team won their fourth-consecutive War Eagle Conference title by scoring 175 points in Hawarden on Monday night.
The seniors on this team have had a hand in some way in all four conference championships that this program has rattled off. Head coach Robin Mohr says they are all hard-working seniors and great to be around.
The Blackhawks were able to win 10 of the 19 events to dominate the meet. That domination came from many different types of events winning long distance events, relays, and throws. Coach Mohr says the depth of his team really shows in short distances where anybody can step up and run a good time.
Being a Hoefling sister was a good thing to be on Monday for the Blackhawks. Jenna and Allison Hoefling combined to four event victories while also recording two second-place finishes. Coach Mohr says both of them have been improving and stepped up in their own events.
The Blackhawks will compete in two more regular season meets before their state qualifying meet on Thursday, May 15 in Sheldon. Coach Mohr says the Blackhawks will still look to improve while trying to take some time to recover and rest before the big meet.
Hinton will return to Hawarden on Thursday for a meet hosted by West Sioux.
