A “launch party” is being held tomorrow evening (Tuesday, July 15) for a newly published book, Down at Dalton, written by the late Judy Bowman. Judy, who passed away in May of this year, was a local journalist and 25-year administrator of the Plymouth County Historical Museum.
Bowman’s friend, Judy Stokesberry, said the book is made up of columns written in the publication known as the Messenger.
Stokesberry said the final chapter of the book was transcribed in the final days of Judy Bowman’s life.
The title of the book, Down at Dalton, comes from the name of a former town, where Bowman owned an acreage.
The public is invited to the launch of the book tomorrow evening from 5 till 7 p.m. at Lally’s Eastside Restaurant on Plymouth Street in Le Mars.
The book will be available for purchase, with the profits going to Wet Nose Animal Rescue in Le Mars.
