Gehlen Homecoming Week

Gehlen Catholic School is celebrating Homecoming this week. A full schedule of events and activities is set for students, alumni, and community members alike.

This year’s theme is “Traveling the World”, chosen by the student council. Gehlen Catholic School Development Director Amy Jungers explained the theme.

There are plenty of days during the week that students can dress up for, including a “Travel Day” at the airport on Monday, a “Beach Day” on Tuesday, and a “Tacky Tourist Day” on Wednesday.

While the Homecoming parade and football game on Friday are the main events, Jungers says there’s more to the week than just those two.

Community members can show their support at events during the week, including High-Five Friday at 8 a.m., where you can give high-fives to students entering the building the Friday of Homecoming.

Homecoming week concludes with coronation at 12 p.m., the parade at 1:45 p.m. in downtown Le Mars, and the football game against Sioux Central at 7 p.m..
