Wells Enterprises has made a $2 million donation to the Le Mars Area Betterment Foundation to support enhancements to community parks and facilities in Le Mars. The announcement was made at a news conference at O’Toole Park this morning.
The donation was made to the Foundation’s capital campaign, focused on community-wide improvements of parks and recreation facilities to enhance quality-of-life amenities for current and future residents. The Foundation has pledged to raise $5.5 million to improve parks in Le Mars, with the city agreeing to match that figure for a total of $11 million.
Adam Baumgartner, Vice President of corporate communications & institutional affairs at Wells, said that the company is proud to call Le Mars home, and that they were committed to giving back to the community.
Foundation President Dustin Wright and Le Mars Mayor Rob Bixenman also spoke at the news conference. In a press release, Wright says that the Foundation was “grateful for the continued support of Wells and all of their associates in Plymouth County and the Siouxland region.”
