Le Mars boys bowling continues busy stretch with win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton

The Le Mars Community boys bowling team competed in their third competition in five days and picked up a victory over Sergeant Bluff-Luton by the score of 2775-2334.

This season has brought some new faces into the varsity fold. Four seniors return from last year’s team, but four underclassmen have also stepped up to be contributors at the varsity level. Head coach Travis Jones says it has been nice to see some new faces contribute for his team.

Those new faces have also triggered some friendly competition for the seniors to make them earn their spots. Coach Jones says it’s new for the seniors to deal with that competition, but they have handled it well.

With this being their third competition in five days, the fatigue was starting to set in. Le Mars tallied their lowest score of the season against Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Coach Jones says he hopes that will inspire the guys to get better during this time off.

With a few weeks off until their next competition on January 5, Coach Jones wants to see the guys come back in the new year with some new motivation to get better.

Le Mars was led in the win by Drake Gill who bowled a 390 individual series.
