Major League Baseball umpire and Marcus resident Bruce Dreckman will be umpiring Thursday’s Field of Dreams Game in Dyersville, Iowa between the Minnesota Twins and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Dreckman has been an MLB umpire since 1996 when he was called up to umpire National League contests. He then worked both American and National League games beginning in 2002. In that time, he has worked four National League Division Series, two National League Championship Series, and two All-Star Games with the most recent in 2024.
Dreckman joins Pat Hoberg as the only two Iowa natives to umpire the game with Hoberg calling the first one in 2021 as the home plate umpire. The 2026 Field of Dreams game comes four years after the previous edition with a new permanent facility set to make its MLB debut.
You can catch Dreckman in action on Thursday night at 6:30 with the game being broadcast by Netflix.
