Hubertha “Bertha” Joan Statema (nee Brands), 88, of rural Ireton, Iowa, died peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the home of her son of rural Alton, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 10:30 am at Ireton Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Nathan Kuperus officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, September 21, 2026 also at Ireton Christian Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be directed to the Ireton Christian School. The Statema family is under the care of Porter Funeral Home of Ireton.
