Chamber Of Commerce Halloween Events

(Le Mars) — Hundreds of children, dressed in various costumes, participated in today’s Le Mars Chamber of Commerce annual “Trick or Treat” event held downtown. Children along with their parents, and in many cases grandparents, had formed a line stretching from the Olson Cultural Event Center to the Le Mars Public Library and throughout downtown, as merchants
distributed candy, fruit, or discount coupons to the estimated crowd of more than 500. While at the Le Mars Public Library, children had the opportunity to select a book to keep for their own. The Le Mars Arts Center is also taking an active role in today’s activities by encouraging children to paint a pumpkin. Earlier today, 25 students from pre-school through fifth grade
age had competed in the third annual pumpkin races held at Total Motors.
For some of the contestants, they had decorated their pumpkin to be similar to their chosen costume.
