Le Mars Sprint Triathlon

(LE MARS) —  In it’s fifth year, The Le Mars Sprint Triathlon is expecting 175 participants. With all those people competing, organizers say that many volunteers are needed to make sure things go smoothly this Saturday, September 10th.  Angela Loutsch, organizer of the event and Aquatics Director at the Le Mars YMCA, says having enough volunteers also ensures participant safety.

Volunteer opportunities are available as early as 6:30 in the morning for set up, around 8am if you’re interested in helping out on the course, and a clean-up crew will also be needed beginning around 12:30.

There is still the opportunity to participate as an athlete in the Triathlon as well. It may be too late to get involved as an individual, but putting together a team where each member focuses on their strength is an option.  Loutsch explains the course.
