(Le Mars) — Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz made an appearance in Le Mars on Saturday and he spoke about the need for economic growth for the nation. Cruz, who was the keynote speaker at Iowa Congressman Steve King’s “Defenders of Freedom” fundraiser event told the group of nearly 250 Republican supporters that the message needs to continually be told to wake up America. The Texas Senator says there are many comparisons between today’s economy and the economy during the President Carter era. Cruz, who recently spoke on the Senate floor for 21 straight hours, advocating the need to defund the Affordable Health Care Act, or also known as “Obamacare”.
