KLEM Local Schedule (week of May 4)

MONDAY RESULTS – May 4

LE MARS — Le Mars senior basketball standout, Tyler Borchers, Monday changed his mind about where he’ll play college basketball next season, signing as a non-scholarship freshman with U-S-D in Vermillion.  Borchers signed with Morningside during the season but after his stock improved following a solid performance at the boys State basketball tournament in March, this Division One opportunity developed for him.  Borchers said he looks forward to the challenge.

ORANGE CITY — Northwestern announced that former Sioux City East and Western Christian standout, Mading Thok, will be transferring from Ball State to play his final two years of college basketball for the Red Raiders.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former Heelan and Morningside standout, Brandon Wegher, has signed a free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers of the N-F-L.  Wegher set N-A-I-A rushing records last fall after a record-setting career at Bishop Heelan.  Wegher played one year for Iowa, setting a freshman record with eight touchdowns.  Wegher then took two years off before surfacing in Sioux City at Morningside to resume his career.
