Plymouth County Authorities Arrest Hunter For Possession Of Controlled Substance

(Le Mars) — Over the weekend, Plymouth County authorities made an arrest of a 26 year old Sioux City man for possession of drugs and drug related paraphernalia.  An Iowa Department of Natural Resources officer asked for assistance from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s office after he had stopped a group of hunters at the intersection of Fir Avenue and 270th Street. The DNR officer suspected the group was in possession of a controlled substance. After an investigation was conducted, Mitchell Miller was arrested, and transported to the Plymouth County jail where he posted bond.

 

 

 

Two People From Sioux City Arrested For Possession And Giving False Indentity

 

(Le Mars) — Two people from Sioux City were arrested by Plymouth County Sheriff’s deputies last week for numerous charges.  The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office arrested Terah Ann Boykin, age 19 and Walter Woodard III, age 34, both of Sioux City.  The arrests were made late Wednesday afternoon.  The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Highway 75, near Le Mars, that was operated by Walter Woodard and occupied by passenger Terah Boykin.  Woodard gave numerous false names before his true identity was discovered.  Deputies found that there were two valid protection orders between Woodard and Boykin.  Terah Boykin was listed as the protected party.  Boykin was found to be in possession of marijuana. Both subjects were arrested and jailed at the Plymouth County Jail.  Woodard was charged with violation of a no contact order (no bond), providing false information (simple misdemeanor), driving suspended (simple misdemeanor), and no insurance (simple misdemeanor).  Boykin was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance marijuana 1st offense (simple misdemeanor).  Bond was set at $1,000.

 

 

 

 

Wingert Honored For November Employee Of The Month

(Le Mars) — A technology advisor for the Le Mars Community School District has been selected as the November employee of the month.  Tracy Wingert has been the technology instructional coach at Le Mars Community Middle and High Schools for two years.  Carrie Campbell and Barb Shostak submitted the nomination for Tracy Wingert. They say: “the world of technology is a little less intimidating when you have a person like Tracy (Wingert) as your tour guide.  Tracy has the intuition to know what technology you are looking for before you even know it.  When he is in your classroom, he brings his teaching expertise and is able to develop a repertoire with the students.  This instructional coach is willing to go out of his way to help you.  He brings a sense of humor to the situation, and has been our life-saver a number of times.”

 

 

 

 

Congressman Steve King Endorses Senator Ted Cruz For President

(Des Moines) — Texas Senator and Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz picked up an important endorsement this morning when Iowa 4th District Republican Congressman Steve King announced during a news conference he would support the conservative Texas Senator.

Two weeks ago, Senator Cruz participated on the annual pheasant hunt hosted by Congressman Steve King.  Cruz told KLEM news he is gaining great support from northwest Iowans, and that he and Steve King share many ideals.
