(Le Mars) — For the last two city council meetings, discussion has focused on all terrain vehicles and snowmobiles, and whether the city should allow such vehicles on the streets of Le Mars.  City administrator, Scott Langel, says the city council did approve the first of three readings of the ordinance.  He says the council still has the opportunity to amend the city code ordinance for the next two readings.  Langel says the city has been discussing whether such vehicles should be registered by the city.

Sioux County To Build New Airport

MAURICE, Iowa (AP) – Officials in northwest Iowa hope a new airport that’s under construction in Sioux County will boost business.
The $28 million project that has been in the works for more than a decade is expected to be done in 2018.
The airport will replace airports in nearby Orange City and Sioux Center that lack room to expand.
Harold Schiebout is chairman of the airport board. He says the new airport will make the region more attractive to business jets.
The runways at the current airports are too short to provide the extra distance needed in wet or snowy weather.
