(Le Mars) — Members of the American Legion Wasmer Post #241  of Le Mars remembered those veterans that lost their lives in pasts wars through the “Wreaths Across America” program held this morning at the Plymouth County Veteran’s Park.  A total of seven wreaths were placed at the veterans park, one wreath for each of the military branches, plus a wreath for the Merchant Marines and another for those veterans that were either a Prisoner of War or Missing In Action.  The wreaths are from the state of Maine with more than 900,000 wreaths distributed across the nation with all the ceremonies taking place simultaneously. Wasmer Post 241 Commander Wayne Schipper says the purpose of the program is to “honor…remember…and to teach”.
