(Le Mars) — Last evening at 6:30, several floating rubber cows, about the size of
a bathtub toy, were dropped into Willow Creek for the Kiwanis Incredible Cow
Splash. The river’s current quickly carried the floating cows downstream. A few
people had gathered at the bridge on 4th Avenue northeast to see if there selected
cow would be one of the lucky winners. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first
four finishers. Those with the first cows to float across the finish line
included: 1st place cow belonged to Travis Ritz of Le Mars and 2nd place went to
Jen Jorgenson of Salix Iowa and 3rd place went to Dan Rexwinkel of Le Mars and 4th
place went to Chuck Vande Water from Le Mars.
