(Le Mars) — Plymouth County Pheasants Forever held its 36th annual banquet Saturday evening at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds. The local chapter awarded its prestigious “Service to Wildlife Award” to Joe Cain. Cain serves on the board of directors for the Plymouth County chapter of Pheasants
Forever, and oversees the habitat program. Cain is also the manager of the “Hole in the Wall” pheasant hunting preserve located near Akron.
Marty Pippett and Jeff Mackey were presented the “Service to Youth” Award for their participation of assisting local youth on different hunting excursions.
According to Bob Peutz, the local chapter president, $27,000 was raised Saturday evening during the auction and raffles. Both State Senator Jim Carlin of Sioux City and State Representative Dr. Tom Jeneary spoke at Saturday evening’s event calling attention to gun rights legislation that passed the Iowa Legislature.
