Gehlen Catholic and Remsen St. Mary’s Celebrate Catholic Schools Week

(Le Mars) — This week is recognized as “National Catholic Schools Week” with the theme, “Faith, Excellence, and Service.”  Amy Jungers serves as the Development Director for Gehlen Catholic Schools at Le Mars.  She says Father Travis Crotty, the school’s chaplain, says the theme reflects the attitude of Gehlen Catholic.

Jungers explains why it is important to recognize “National Catholic Schools Week”

Jungers says the Gehlen Catholic community kicked off catholic schools week on Monday with daily mass followed by refreshments that were served.  Jungers says a noon luncheon was served in the library to the members of the Peter and Katheryn Gehlen Society.

Jungers says the Gehlen Christian Leadership Team also distributed several baskets to the community.  Jungers says today’s focus for Tuesday is highlighting the faculty and staff of Gehlen Catholic schools.

On Wednesday, Gehlen Catholic schools will celebrate faith parishes and vocation. It will begin with the school mass services at 8:45 a.m. Jungers explains the activities that are being planned for the remainder of the week.

Jungers says students will also be writing letters to seminary candidates on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Gehlen Catholic will celebrate families, and so the students will hold a picnic with their families inside the gymnasiums.  Then on Friday, February 4th, Gehlen Catholic will celebrate the students.  Saturday, Gehlen Catholic will help celebrate with Spalding as the Granville elementary school will hold its annual fund raiser.

 

At Remsen St. Mary’s, Monday was designated to celebrate faculty and staff, Tuesday is the celebration of Faith and Vocations, Wednesday they will celebrate Students, (present and alumni), Thursday, Remsen St. Mary’s will celebrate the general community and nation, and on Friday, Remsen St. Mary’s will celebrate families and volunteers.
