Pioneer Christmas Village Wonderland

The Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce will be assisting the Pioneer Village Christmas Wonderland Committee for the annual event this year and in 2024 it will be fully implemented by the Chamber.

Bonita Davidson, President of the Pioneer Village Committee said “It is with deep regret that I am giving up part of the village, but I am very honored that the Chamber has stepped in to take on this event and keep the tradition going.”

The Pioneer Village Christmas Wonderland Committee has successfully created the atmosphere of an old-fashioned family Christmas with the lighting of the village, delighting thousands of visitors each year.  Some village activities include horse rides, visits by Santa, the festival of trees, musical entertainment, treats in the Sportsman’s Club, stuffed animals given away by the Toy Club, goodie bags, popcorn balls, cookies, cider, and coffee. The Round Barn is filled on both levels with Christmas animation, snowmen, Santas and angels. All these activities are provided to the visitors at no charge, other than a free will donation.

Lori French, Executive Director of the Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce added “Sometimes great events and happenings continue with great partnerships and a unified vision. The Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce can see what an important, inspiring, festive celebration this has become and would like to keep the tradition going in our community.”
