An accident Saturday morning in Plymouth County has taken the life of an eleven-year-old. The Plymouth County Sherriff’s Communication Center received the report of a crash in the 22000 block of C38 involving a semi-tractor trailer and a dirt bike. According to the report, the International truck, pulling a grain trailer, was traveling east on C38. The dirt bike was traveling south on private property when it entered C38 and the collision occurred. As a result of the crash, the eleven-year-old sustained fatal injuries. No names are being released at this time. The 45 year-old driver of the semi-tractor trailer was uninjured. The crash investigation is ongoing at this time by the Iowa State Patrol with the assistance of the Plymouth County Sherriff’s Office. Other emergency responders were the Akron Fire and Ambulance Department and MercyOne Air Med.
