Mike and Cheryl Wells Debut New Premier Event Center and One-of-a-Kind Car Museum at Le Mars Arts Center “That’s Amoré” Red-Carpet Fundraising Event Celebrating 50 Years of the Le Mars Arts Center

December 18, 2023 (Le Mars, Iowa) – On Saturday, February 10, 2024, the Le Mars Arts Center will be hosting “That’s Amoré,” a Valentine red-carpet fundraising event celebrating 50 Years of the Le Mars Arts Center and featuring the debut of the new premier event center and one-of-a-kind car museum, The Garage at 800, owned by Mike and Cheryl Wells.

The “That’s Amoré” event is slated to be a red-carpet event that attendees won’t soon forget. Those in attendance will enjoy a night of authentic Italian food, drinks, live music, dancing, and the debut of a premier private car collection. Cheryl Wells said, “This is our debut event in this new space that has been under construction since 2020. It’s “classic” Mike! Please come enjoy the evening, and we have a real culinary treat for you and your date and/or guests at your table with Joe Sitzmann partnering with our dear friend Steve Papero who is coming from the East Coast. Steve has been in the restaurant business and conceptualization for over 50 years. The partnership between the two is going to be stupendous!” The event will also feature a live auction of some incredible pieces of art, with proceeds going towards supporting the Le Mars Arts Center and its programs.

The authentic Italian menu for the evening will be prepared by Joe Sitzmann, in partnership with Steve Papero. Joe Sitzmann, is the owner and proprietor of Thrive Hospitality Management, which operates both P’s Pizza House in Le Mars and Dakota Dunes, SD and Iowa BBQ in Le Mars, IA.

The new Garage at 800, located at 800 Prospect Street SW in Le Mars, offers a spacious and memorable venue for corporate events and other special occasions. The car museum, which features a collection of classic automobiles, is a unique addition to Le Mars as well. Mike and Cheryl Wells are thrilled to be able to give back to their community by providing a beautiful event for special groups and experiences. Mike Wells has said, “I love cars, and I love Le Mars! This space features over 200 vintage gas/oil and automotive signs and a unique collection of things that are special to me. It is also a recreation of downtown Le Mars in the 50’s, including a Chevy dealership, Standard gas station, the Royal Theatre, and more from downtown. Oh, and there is a beautiful car collection from that era. Come share this with us on February 10 to benefit the Le Mars Arts Center.”

The Wells are long-time supporters of the arts in Le Mars and were excited to host the event to raise funds for the Le Mars Arts Center. The center provides a vital cultural and artistic outlet for the community and has been a hub for creativity and inspiration for many years.
