Le Mars Girls Tennis Wins Second MRAC Match of the Year with Win Over Sioux City North

The Le Mars girls tennis team won their second MRAC match of the season on Friday night with a 7-2 win at home over Sioux City North.

It was a cold and windy day to play tennis making things pretty tricky for all involved. Head coach Tifany Wright says they are used to this by now, and the weather impacts both sides equally in a match.

The Bulldogs ran out a singles roster that had two of each between sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Only a handful saw meaningful contests last year for the Bulldogs. Coach Wright says she is seeing the confidence continue to build as the season goes along.

After going winless last year, the pressure is nonexistent this year leaving the girls an opportunity to just go out there and play.

Le Mars dropped one of their doubles matchups and the other two were close 8-5 and 8-4 wins. Coach Wright says the Bulldogs have to clean up doubles play to help their chances at winning future matches.

The Bulldogs take on unbeaten Bishop Heelan to start the week at home.
