Aviation Funding Announced

FY25 IOWA AVIATION PROGRAM APPROVED

The Iowa Transportation Commission Tuesday approved $9.3 million for the fiscal year 2025 State Aviation Program, This includes funding for the Le Mars Municipal Airport.

This includes 6.3 million for the Airport Improvement Program. This money will fund a variety of aviation safety initiatives, system planning, and air service development activities. It will also provide funding for airport development projects at 23 airports in Iowa.

Federal aviation funding has also been announced. US Department of Transportation airport infrastructure grants totaling 17.2 million dollars have been awarded to Iowa airports under the bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Airports at Le Mars, Cherokee, Sheldon, Maurice, and Storm Lake will each receive 144-thousand dollars.

The Spencer Regional Airport will receive 294-thousand dollars.

Sioux Gateway Airport in Sioux City will receive 1.1 million dollars, which will be used for taxiway repairs
