The Hinton girls golf team kept their undefeated record in tact beating Akron-Westfield 193-199 in Akron on Thursday night.
Both the Westerners and the Blackhawks were unbeaten going into the matchup meaning both teams knew it would be a battle. Hinton head coach Joel Small says he was happy to see his team fight through the rain and play a good round of golf.
Individually, Karlyn Kovarna and Ashlyn Kramer have been dialed in most of the year. Both of them shot under 50 once again while Crayten Stusse added a 48. Coach Small says Stusse’s 48 was big towards Hinton picking up the win.
The little things in the game of golf have helped Hinton immensely throughout the season. Coach Small says his team is still undefeated and will remain undefeated because of their short game.
Hinton competes next on Tuesday when they host both Gehlen Catholic and South O’Brien.
