Le Mars softball goes 2-0 at home tournament

The Le Mars Community softball team went 2-0 at their home triangular on Friday with victories over No. 12 (2A) Hinton and Western Christian.

Tournaments like this give the Bulldogs an opportunity to throw some other kids into starting roles to see what they can do. Le Mars head coach Brooke Berkenpas says the girls that were given those opportunities made the most of them.

Le Mars’ toughest test came against Hinton where the Bulldogs recorded a 4-1 win. Coach Berkenpas says the game was a different but good challenge for her team.

A 10-3 win over Western Christian followed the Hinton game and solidified a 6-1 week for the Bulldogs. With six more games on tap for the upcoming week, Coach Berkenpas says this should give the team a lot of confidence heading into another busy week.

Le Mars is back in action tonight against Bishop Heelan. You can listen to the doubleheader on KLEM.
