The Le Mars Community School District is celebrating Homecoming this week, with a schedule packed with events and culminating in the annual parade on Friday.
The theme is year is “Golden Nights and Bulldog Lights”, with teacher and student council advisor Michael Bahr explaining the theme to KLEM.
Throughout the week, students are able to dress up for specific days: today is “Pajamas Day”, Tuesday will be “Adam Sandler Day”, and Thursday will be Camo Day. Coronation will be held on Monday (today) instead of the usual Friday, the second year Le Mars Community has done so. The main day on Friday will consist of a pep rally and the Class Olympics, which Bahr says is his favorite part of the week.
In the afternoon, the annual Homecoming parade starts at 1:45 p.m. in downtown Le Mars, followed by the Homecoming football game against Spencer at 7 p.m.. Bahr says he’s appreciative of the community’s support of Homecoming week.
