
Voters in Plymouth County and across the state headed to the polls yesterday to decide which candidates would contest local, state, and national offices in November’s general election.
In the local Board of Supervisors District 4 Republican primary, the only contested primary for the board, Craig Anderson won the Republican Party nomination with 1,360 votes to challenger Randy Kroksh’s 766 votes. Speaking to KLEM on primary night, Anderson thanked voters for supporting him in his bid for another four year term.
In statewide elections, Zach Lahn carried Plymouth County in the Iowa gubernatorial Republican primary with 44% of the vote, with congressman Randy Feenstra finishing with 42%. Ashley Hinson carried Plymouth County in the U.S. Senate Republican primary with 58% of the vote, while Josh Turek won Plymouth County in the Democratic primary with 76% of the vote. Chris McGowan ran unopposed in the Republican primary for Iowa’s 4th congressional district, while Dave Dawson won the Democratic primary in Plymouth County with 43% of the vote.
