Live music returns to Ice Cream Days
As part of the Ice Cream Capital of the World’s signature summer celebration, live music will return to the Olson Cultural Events Center next weekend with two free Ice Cream Bash Concerts. Mitch Christoffel of Engage Le Mars explained the two acts performing on Friday and Saturday evening, Tyler Anthony Band and The Schmidt Brothers, to KLEM.
In addition, local classic rock act The CRS Band will perform on Wednesday evening during the Tri-State Cruisers Car Show. This is the second year that Ice Cream Days will feature live performances on Friday and Saturday, and Christoffel says the concerts add to the overall Ice Cream Days experience for locals and visitors alike.
Christoffel encourages attendees to bring lawn chairs and to enjoy the cash bar and food trucks available. The two concerts will take place on Friday, June 19th and Saturday, June 20th from 7-10pm at the Olson Cultural Events Center.

Board of Supervisors discusses data center moratorium
The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors held a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday morning, and during the meeting, the Board discussed changes to the Zoning Ordinance regarding data centers, including a potential temporary moratorium on construction in the county.
Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission were in attendance at the meeting, and Board members discussed options and concerns about building and operating data centers in Plymouth County. Board chair Don Kass stated that the two most important concerns he has are water consumption and the possibility of the centers quickly becoming brownfield sites, adding that the county’s zoning code “needs to be reflective of the potential.” No data centers are currently in operation in Plymouth County, and the Board did not make a final decision yesterday.
During the meeting, the Board additionally canvassed primary results from last week’s primary elections and approved an ordinance that will establish new policies for road construction and reconstruction. The Board will next meet on Tuesday, June 16th inside of the Plymouth County Courthouse.
