The Le Mars Community softball team concluded their home conference schedule with a pair of losses to No. 10 Sergeant Bluff-Luton at home on Tuesday night. Both games ended in four innings by scores of 14-2 and 12-0.
The Bulldogs were facing off with a Warrior offense that can produce runs at will. Le Mars head coach Brooke Berkenpas says the Warriors can do every phase of the game well making them very tough to gameplan for.
Games like these are tough to swallow initially, but they can be valuable down the road for a team that has a lot of younger players. Coach Berkenpas says it is important that her team gets acclimated to this type of play because they will see more of it in the future.
The Bulldogs have just three more games left before their tournament opener next week. Coach Berkenpas says these games are very important to build confidence going into a tough regional tournament.
Le Mars concludes the MRAC schedule on Thursday at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln before finishing the regular season at home on Monday against MOC-Floyd Valley. They open the regional tournament on Thursday, July 9 at Spencer in a game you can hear on KLEM Radio.
