Le Mars volleyball falls in straight sets at No. 7 Sergeant Bluff-Luton

The Le Mars Community volleyball team fell in straight sets on Tuesday night at No. 7 Sergeant Bluff-Luton.

The Bulldogs got behind early in the first set and did not play their best to finish that set. Thankfully, Le Mars was able to make things interesting in the next two sets hanging with the Warriors the rest of the match. Head coach Jess Wolles says she was happy with the bounce back.

This was Le Mars’ first match in 10 days thanks to a week off in the middle of the schedule. Coach Wolles says the break was beneficial toward working on some things that paid off throughout the match.

Le Mars’ defense helped keep them in the match later on with some tremendous back row play. Coach Wolles says that was a big boost for her team.

Le Mars falls to 2-9 on the season and 1-2 in the MRAC with the loss. This was just the start of a busy week for the Bulldogs who also have a home conference match on Thursday and a tournament on Saturday. Coach Wolles says the play in the last two sets will hopefully benefit the Bulldogs going forward.

Le Mars’ next match is against Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson at home on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
