Le Mars Halloween festivities
There will be no shortage of Halloween festivities in Le Mars today. The Le Mars Arts Center and Public Library will be hosting fun Halloween activities, while
Maggie Rechtenbaugh and the Chamber of Commerce will be organizing Downtown Trick-or-Treat for families to enjoy throughout downtown Le Mars from 1-2:30 p.m.
From 5:30-7:30 p.m., Jennifer Scholten and the Plymouth County Historical Museum will host their annual “Spooky Night at the Museum.” Children and adults alike are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costumes as they stroll from room to room through the museum and collect treats from museum staff along the way. The museum is decorated for the season, and while the theme is spooky, the evening is a gentle, friendly, family-oriented event.
The event is free to attend, but donations are welcome.

Reset clocks and smoke detector batteries
Tonight at 2 a.m., clocks will fall back one hour. Don’t forget to reset them! Le Mars Fire-Rescue Chief Steve Schwarz also recommends changing the batteries in your smoke detectors. He says changing the batteries is needed twice a year, and doing it during a time change is “a good way to remember.”
