Hinton boys wrestling eyes return trips to Coralville and Des Moines after 6-0 start to dual schedule

The Hinton boys wrestling team has a target on their back this year for sure. The Blackhawks have been to the Class 1A state dual tournament twice in a row and start this season ranked sixth in the state in the preseason dual rankings. New co-head coach Jordan Langley knew he was taking over a team that did not want to take a step back. He says to accomplish that, the guys have had to continue getting better.

The Blackhawks are off to a 6-0 start to their dual schedule this year. Most of the guys are coming off a state semifinal football run that led right into wrestling practice. Coach Langley says while the football run was deep, the guys are hungry to make the wrestling season go further.

Obviously, the 6-0 start is not all the Blackhawks want to accomplish this season. Their goal is to get back to Coralville and have as many guys wrestle at The Well as possible. Coach Langley says he is confident in his team to reach those goals.

The Blackhawks are off for the 2024 portion of the season. They will return to action on Saturday with a tournament at Glenwood.
