This week is National 4-H Week, highlighting the impact of America’s largest youth development organization. Several events will be held this week by Plymouth County 4-H and by ISU Extension and Outreach for the more than 400 young people that’s part of 4-H in Plymouth County.
Gabbi Carpenter, county coordinator for Extension and Outreach, explained more about the week to KLEM.
On Monday, 4-H’ers wore green to showcase their 4-H spirit, and Thursday will be 4-H for Good day, spotlighting the good that 4-H does in the community. A 4-H alumni herself, Carpenter says that one of the best parts of 4-H is seeing the growth of kids in the program.
Starting today at noon and ending tomorrow afternoon, the Iowa 4-H Giving Day will take place. A 24-hour fundraising event, the fundraiser will benefit 4-H groups across the state, including here in Plymouth County. A link to the fundraiser is available here.
