#3-Gehlen Catholic (28-6) def. #7-Tripoli (25-14) 3-2  (18-25, 25-27, 25-14, 25-12, 15-10).  Gehlen statistical leaders:  KILLS- Katie Peters 18, Katelyn Langel 7 and Sydney Livermore 6.  ASSISTS- Sydney Livermore 19 and Anna Britt 11.  BLOCKS- Katelyn Langel 3 and Krista Lipp, Kayla Mayer & Katie Peters had 2 each.  DIGS- Chloe Bunkers 21, Katie Peters 16.  SERVING- Anna Britt (28-28/4 aces), Chloe Bunkers (24-24/3 aces) and Katie Peters (17-17/2 aces).

(Le Mars) — Later this evening, the Gehlen Catholic Lady Jays Volleyball team will step on the volleyball court in Cedar Rapids for their tenth appearance at the Iowa Girls State Volleyball Tournament.  A send-off ceremony was held Monday at the Marvin Langel Memorial Gymnasium.  Each of the girls were presented with a volleyball, compliments of the Iowa Farm Bureau, title sponsor of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.  The #3 ranked Lady Jays will face a familiar foe with #7 rated Tripoli.  The 1A Quarterfinals match will begin at 6:00 p.m.  KLEM Sports Director Denny Callahan will call the action, and you can listen to AM1410, FM 96.9, or streamline the audio from the KLEM website at www.klem1410.com.
