Traffic Accident Reported On Highway 75

(Hinton) — A major accident has taken place this afternoon on Highway 75, south of Hinton, involving a semi truck and several other vehicles. Traffic on Highway 75 has come to a standstill, and officials are diverting the traffic to other county roads for detours. Officials are still at the scene conducting their investigation. The accident happened in the construction
zone between Hinton and Sioux City, in what is believed to be a chain reaction accident. You may recall that stretch of highway is where Highway 75 is down to two-lanes of facing traffic. The Hinton Fire and Rescue and Hinton Ambulance, along with the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office has responded to the scene. At this time we don’t know many details, including how many injuries, or the extent of those injuries.
