Homecoming Will Be The First Game At The New Stadium

(Le Mars) — The Le Mars Community High School Bulldog Homecoming, scheduled for September 20th is when school officials believe the new football stadium will be ready. School superintendent, Dr. Steven Webner says he is confident the Bulldog football team will be able to play its first home game on the new turf during the Homecoming festivities. Webner says the latest delay is due to a drainage problem.

Webner says the plan now is to place some drainage tile underneath the track and around the field to move the rainwater.

The Le Mars Community School Superintendent says it is more important to get the stadium and track in good operating condition for the long haul, rather than worrying about a few games that need to be re-scheduled due to the construction delays.

The construction delays for the newly renovated stadium has also affected Gehlen Catholic’s football schedule. Gehlen was originally scheduled to have its first home game for September 13th, but now that game has been moved to Moville when the Gehlen Jays take on the Woodbury Central Wildcats. However, Gehlen Catholic is looking forward to its first home football game at the new stadium for their Homecoming festivities, scheduled for September 27th.
