The Le Mars Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that happened in Le Mars on May 30, 2020. LMPD was notified of a 17-year-old gunshot victim at Floyd Valley ER just before 9 p.m. Saturday evening. Officers determined the incident took place in a detached garage at 255 4th Street Southeast. The person responsible for the discharge of the firearm was located at the scene. Officials determined there was no danger to the public. LMPD and Plymouth County Deputies secured the scene while obtaining a search warrant. Officers recovered a 9mm handgun. The investigation is ongoing. Le Mars Police were assisted by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
