ATV accident causes serious injuries

(LE MARS)  A female juvenile was injured when an all-terrain vehicle flipped two miles south of Le Mars.

According to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s office, the accident occurred on Lake Avenue at 7:35 p-m Saturday.

The driver, a juvenile female, lost control while operating the A-T-V in a corn stubble field. The vehicle came to rest on top of the driver and a  juvenile female passenger.  The driver had life threatening injuries. Her juvenile female passenger was not injured.

The driver was taken to Floyd Valley Hospital and then flown by air ambulance to a Sioux Falls hospital.

The sheriff’s office did not release the names of the females citing the need to notify family members.

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s office was assisted by Le Mars Police and Ambulance.
