2012 Plymouth County Fair King and Queen

(Le Mars) — Today is day two of the five best days of summer…the Plymouth County Fair,and last night, the highlight was the crowning of the new fair king and queen.

Annabelle Banks of Westfield was selected as the 2012 Plymouth County Fair queen and Grady Farrer of Hinton was selected as the 2012 Plymouth County Fair king. Annabelle admitted she was surprised by the announcement.

Banks is a five year member of the Lucky Liberty Lopers 4-H club. In past years she has exhibited poster exhibits and work projects, but this year she has entered a carcass beef market steer for competition. Annabelle will assist with the distribution of ribbons and trophys to the 4-H members while serving as an ambassador of the Plymouth county fair.  She will represent Plymouth County at the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest.  Annabelle says of the upcoming event, she is not certain if she will win, but she is certain it will be fun.

Grady Farrer seemed to take the honor all in stride.

Grady has exhibited communication projects, rabbits, poultry, and even welding projects.  He has a photography project and an art project that were awarded purple champion ribbons and will be sent to the Iowa State Fair.
