(Le Mars) — Come Friday evening, several people will gather at the Le Mars Community Football Stadium and Track to show their support for cancer research. It’s all part of the Relay For Life. Kari Butcher serves as the coordinator for the local charity.

The Relay For Life event organizer says this year’s program will offer plenty of fun activities as participants raise money for cancer research.

Hundreds of candles inside paper bags will be placed around the track and Butcher says those candles, or luminaries, help make the evening’s event more special.
