N-C-A-A TOURNAMENT REGIONAL SEMIFINALS

CLEVELAND (AP) – Kentucky doubled up West Virginia 78-39 in a one-sided Midwest Regional semifinal last night that sends the 37-0 Wildcats into the Elite Eight. Trey Lyles scored 14 point and Andrew Harrison added 13 for the 37-0 Wildcats, who face Notre Dame in Saturday’s Midwest final.

CLEVELAND (AP) – Demetrius Jackson scored 20 points and third-seeded Notre Dame dominated Wichita State 81-70 in the Midwest regional semifinals to advance to the Elite Eight for the first time in 36 years. Pat Connaughton added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Notre Dame and Jerian Grant had nine points and 11 assists.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Sam Dekker scored a career-high 23 points, Frank Kaminsky added 19 and top-seeded Wisconsin rallied in the final 10 minutes to hold off North Carolina 79-72 and advance to the final eight of the NCAA Tournament. Zak Showalter came off the bench to score six points in the Badgers’ 19-7 comeback run that sent them into the West Regional final Saturday against No. 2 seed Arizona.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Second-seed Arizona earned the right to play Wisconsin for the West final by rallying past Xavier 68-60. T.J. McConnell scored 17 points for Arizona, which went on a 19-7 run in the final seven minutes to win.

N-C-A-A MEN’S TOURNAMENT REGIONAL SEMIFINALS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) – It will be fourth seed Louisville taking on No. 7 Michigan State in the East Regional final of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Montrezl Harrell scored 24 points and Louisville kept its title hopes alive by downing North Carolina State 75-65 in Syracuse. Michigan State is the lowest seed still alive after Denzel Valentine scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half of a 62-58 win over No. 3 Oklahoma.

HOUSTON (AP) – Top seed Duke and No. 2 Gonzaga have advanced to the South Regional final in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Justise Winslow 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Blue Devils advanced to the regional finals for the 14th time under coach Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEHF’-skee), downing fifth seed Utah 63-57. Przemek Karnowski had 18 points and nine rebounds as Gonzaga knocked out No. 11 UCLA 74-62.

N-C-A-A TOURNAMENT REGIONAL FINALS

CLEVELAND – Andrew Harrison hit two free throws with six seconds left as the top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats survived a 68-66 win over fifth seed Notre Dame to advance to the NCAA men’s Final Four. The Irish had one last chance to tie or win it, but Jerian Grant missed a jumper from the corner as time expired. Karl-Anthony Towns had 25 points and five rebounds to lead the unbeaten Wildcats to their 38th win and a berth in the national semifinals for the fourth time in five years.

LOS ANGELES – No. 1 seed Wisconsin is in the national semifinals for the second straight year following an 85-78 triumph over No. 2 Arizona in Los Angeles. Frank Kaminsky poured in 29 points and Sam Dekker added 27 to set a career high for the second straight game. The Badgers denied the Wildcats a Final Four berth for the second straight year

UNDATED – Duke and Michigan State have advanced to the NCAA Final Four and will face each other next Saturday before Kentucky takes on Wisconsin. Justise Winslow drained a pair of 3-pointers down the stretch and finished with 16 points as top seed Duke beat Gonzaga 66-52 to win the South Region. Travis Trice paced the Spartans with 17 points and Denzel Valentine added 15 in a 76-70 overtime win against Louisville.
