Kass says the county’s projected revenue is looking good for the coming fiscal year.

The chairman of the county supervisors says Plymouth County has one of the lowest tax levy throughout the entire state.

One of the major expenses for the county is the maintenance and upkeep of our secondary roads and bridges. Kass says the budget for the secondary roads department is slightly lower this year.

The funding of mental health services is also a large expense for the county. Kass says Plymouth County is seeing an increase this fiscal year for its mental health programs.

According to Kass, Plymouth County is in a better position with its mental health expenditures since the re-organization of the Sioux Rivers Regional Mental Health Organization that includes Plymouth, Sioux, Lyon, and recently O’Brien and Dickinson counties.
