Plymouth County Historical Museum Hit With Vandalism

(Le Mars) — Le Mars Police are investigating a report of vandalism that happened at the Plymouth County Historical Museum over the weekend. Several windows had been broken when rocks were thrown at the windows. Le Mars Assistant Police Chief, Justin Daale, says the windows were on the upper level of the museum.

Assistant Chief Daale explains how many of the museum’s windows were destroyed as a result of the weekend acts of vandalism.

Daale says the vandalism was limited to the broken windows and display cases, in the one room and no other areas of the museum had reported to have suffered any other additional vandalism. Daale says security cameras in the area were not operative at the time of the vandalism. He says if anyone has information about the vandalism incident to the museum, they are asked to forward the information to the Le Mars Police Department.

The Le Mars Assistant Police Chief estimates the damage to exceed $2,000.
