National Night Out begins Tuesday night
The chance for the community to interact with local law enforcement will happen tomorrow as the Le Mars Police Department is hosting National Night Out. Le Mars Police Chief Kevin Vande Vegte explained what the department has planned for the evening to KLEM.
Free food, fun, and games will be held, and first responders from the Le Mars Police Department, Le Mars Fire-Rescue, the Plymouth County Sheriff and Iowa State Patrol will be in attendance. Vande Vegte says the chance for the public to interact with law enforcement is important.
The night out starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. at the police station in Le Mars.

Over 50 colleges to attend college fair in Le Mars
Over 50 colleges from across a multi-state area will be present at the Le Mars College Fair taking place tomorrow.
Students from area high schools can attend the event tomorrow at the Le Mars Convention Center, starting at 1 p.m.. A range of schools from Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota will attend, from major public universities to small private colleges, as well as military organizations and apprenticeship programs. The event is co-hosted by the Iowa Association for College Admission Counseling.
Judd Kopperud, high school counselor at Le Mars Community High School, says that the fair is a great opportunity for area students to talk with a large amount of schools in one place. He also says that parents are encouraged to come as well.
Admission to the fair is free, and runs until 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.

City Council to hold special meeting today, regular meeting Tuesday
The Le Mars City Council will hold a special meeting today, in addition to their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday.
The special meeting will be held at 1 p.m. in the Headline Event Space in downtown Le Mars, with the meeting solely consisting of a community development planning session. The council will then meet for a regularly scheduled meeting tomorrow at noon inside City Hall. Agenda items include approving a new solid waste collection contract with Van’s Sanitation, approving a new liquor license for The Bar downtown, and approving services agreements with ISG for two projects.

Plymouth County Board of Supervisors meets tomorrow
The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors will meet tomorrow inside the Plymouth County Courthouse at 9:30 a.m..
Agenda items include reviewing a proposed budget amendment to FY 2025-26, approve a proclamation of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and a project update from Summit Carbon Solutions.
