The Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce has announced they’ve appointed Erica Krohn as the Chamber’s next executive director, effective as of Monday, January 5th. The announcement was made in a press release on Thursday morning.
A Le Mars native, Krohn is returning home after a decade of professional experience in Sioux Falls, SD. She most recently served as director of events at Children’s Home Society of South Dakota, directing large-scale fundraising events and building strong relationships with partners, donors, and supporters. Prior to that, Krohn served as the tournament manager for the Sanford International, a PGA TOUR Champions event, overseeing tournament logistics, special events, player services, and sponsor relations.
Erica is the daughter of Rick and Kris Westhoff of Le Mars.
As executive director, Krohn will lead the Chamber’s strategic initiatives, business support efforts, community partnerships, and events that enhance the economic vitality and quality of life in the Le Mars area. Krohn will oversee Chamber operations, support member businesses, collaborate on community events and tourism efforts, and lead initiatives that promote the city of Le Mars.
In a press release, Krohn said that “coming home to Le Mars truly feels like a full-circle moment,” and that she was “grateful for the chance to give back to the people, businesses, and organizations that make Le Mars such a special place.”
Community members will have the opportunity to meet with Erica during a Community Coffee event at the Hometown Le Mars Heritage Foundation Building on January 7th, starting at 9:30am.
