Le Mars girls basketball’s comeback effort falls short to Council Bluffs AL

The Le Mars Community girls basketball team suffered another narrow single-digit conference loss on Tuesday night falling to Council Bluffs AL by the score of 46-40.

The game looked to be getting out of hand early with the Bulldogs down 12-0 in the first quarter and down 14 heading into the second half. Head coach Sidney Ruden says her team failed to do enough to hang with the Lynx.

In the second half, the Bulldogs started a comeback run. They outscored the Lynx 15-4 in the third quarter and even took a lead late in the fourth quarter. Coach Ruden says the ball movement was better which translated well to a lot of other things on the court.

Le Mars falls to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the MRAC with the loss. That record could send a lot of teams spiraling, but it is not sending the Bulldogs that way. Coach Ruden says she knows her team is close to turning a corner.

The Bulldogs finish their 2025 portion of the schedule with a road game at Sioux City North on Friday night. KLEM will broadcast that game live with tip-off at 5:30 PM.
