Bulldog girls basketball snaps five-game skid with road win at Sioux City North

The Le Mars Community girls basketball team snapped a five-game losing skid with a 53-52 victory over Sioux City North.

The Bulldogs had played some competitive games in that losing streak but could never quite get over the top to win one of those games. Head coach Sidney Ruden says this gives the girls some great momentum heading into the holiday break.

The Bulldogs were able to get some momentum on the offensive side thanks to some great inside looks. Whether they came off a rebound or on a screen, the Bulldogs were thriving on the block. Jorja Bixenman was the top scorer for the Bulldogs with 12 points in the win. Coach Ruden says it was a great thing to see her lead the team on offense.

Le Mars had a decent lead heading into the fourth quarter and found themselves hanging on for dear life at the end of the quarter. Coach Ruden says those bad quarters have to be worked through in games after the holiday break.

The Bulldogs take a 2-5 record into the holidays with a 1-4 mark in the Missouri River Activities Conference.
