Augustine signs to continue playing football at Morningside University

Le Mars senior football wide receiver Tycen Augustine recently signed his letter of intent to play football next fall at Morningside University.

Morningside University appealed to Augustine based on the foundation that has been set by the coaching staff. He says that foundation is built on success.

At Le Mars, Augustine made his mark as one of the best receivers to come through the program. He says that success came from a lot of hard work in practice.

Le Mars head coach Ken Vigdal says Augustine was such a great athlete that it was tough to keep the ball out of his hands.

To compete at a high level with a great institution like Morningside, Augustine knows it will take a lot of work in the offseason to prepare him for the college game.

Sending a player off to college is always a feather in the cap of a high school program. Coach Vigdal says it is starting to become a norm in Le Mars, and it is something that his players should aspire to.

Augustine and Morningside University open their season on Saturday, August 29 under the lights against Benedictine College of Kansas at home in Sioux City.
