The Le Mars Community baseball team won both games at Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson by identical scores of 16-0 on Tuesday in Council Bluffs.
With 32 combined runs in the doubleheader, Le Mars’ bats were on fire the entire game. All hitters up and down the order were contributing as well. Head coach Kendall Candor says some adjustments to pregame preparation seems to be paying off for his team.
The first game finished in four innings, but the Bulldogs still got a very dominant effort on the mound from Brett McInnis. It was McInnis’ first winning decision since May 26, and Coach Candor says he deserves to get some credit for the way he has pitched.
In game two, the Bulldogs won the game in seven innings behind stellar pitching from Ben Regennitter. Coach Candor says he did not mess around and kept attacking hitters all game.
The Bulldogs have won four games in a row and will take that winning streak into a doubleheader with Class 4A’s top ranked team at home against Sioux City East. Coach Candor says his guys need to worry about what they need to do going into the matchup.
First pitch is at 5:30 on Thursday in Le Mars for the Bulldogs and Black Raiders. Le Mars now sits at 7-15 overall and 7-15 in the MRAC.
