Plymouth County Fair royalty crowned
Last night, the Plymouth County fair crowned their royalty for 2026 during the fair’s opening ceremony on the Pioneer Village stage. Carter Moffatt of Ireton, son of Brett and Becky Moffatt, was crowned King, and Isabelle Plueger of Le Mars, daughter of Kelly and Julie Plueger, was crowned Queen. Speaking to KLEM, Moffatt says he’s grateful and honored to be named Fair King.
Plueger told KLEM that she’s grateful to her community for being recognized as Fair Queen.
The Fair Royalty for 2026 also features Miss Congeniality Gracie Shroeder, Mr. Personality Tristan Sitzmann, Princess Kaylie Meinen, and Princes Cooper Loutsch and Daniel Beierschmitt. Congratulations to the 2026 Plymouth County Fair Royalty! During the opening ceremony last night, Candace Nash officially received the Heart of County Fair Award, and the Plymouth County 4-H and Agricultural Society received a $5,000 grant from Channel Seed.

Plymouth County Fair day two: go karts, live entertainment, and more
Day two of the Best 5 Days of Summer will take place today, featuring go karts, live entertainment, and more.
Go-kart races will be held on the Grandstand tonight, with registration starting at 3pm, Hot Laps at 6pm and the main races starting at 7pm. On the Pioneer Village stage tonight, acapella group Six Appeal will perform at 5pm and 7:30pm, and Eagles All Stars, a tribute to classic rock band the Eagles, will perform at 6:15pm and 8:45pm. In addition, the McDermott Family Midway will open starting at 1pm, B&R Chainsaw Sculptures will begin crafting sculptures live in the Family Plaza at noon, and numerous FFA and 4-H shows and exhibits will be held throughout the day.

Le Mars Chamber of Commerce, Wise I Brewing Company team up for annual beer festival
The Le Mars Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Wise I Brewing Company, is proud to announce the return of Let There Be Light, the city’s first-ever beer festival dedicated to “celebrating the best in crushable, flavorful beers and ciders, all under 6% ABV.”
More than 25 breweries and cideries from across Iowa will be brought together for the festival, with attendees being able to enjoy a broad selection of easy-drinking styles including lagers, pilsners, sours, IPAs, stouts, and ciders. Proceeds from the festival will go towards the Le Mars Rotary Club and the Iowa Brewers Guild. In a press release, Wise I says the festival’s focus is on “lower-alcohol beers that don’t compromise on flavor, character, or craft.”
The festival will take place on Saturday, August 22nd from noon until 3:30pm at the Olson Cultural Events Center, just across the street from Wise I Brewing Company. Tickets will start at $35 for general admission and $55 for limited VIP tickets, with tickets available by clicking here.
