Several injured near Struble

(STRUBLE)–A chain reaction-type traffic accident north of Le Mars Thursday afternoon is being investigated by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s office.

Late yesterday afternoon the Iowa Department of Transportation reported Highway 75 was closed to traffic due to the multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 75 and County Road C-12, near Struble.

Unofficial reports indicate the accident was reported about 4:30 Thursday afternoon after a semi struck a vehicle stopped on Highway 75 that was one of several vehicles stopped for a pilot car near the Plymouth-Sioux County line. The lanes of travel were reduced due to road maintenance work.

Law enforcement, including the Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Department of Motor Vehicle Enforcement and the Plymouth and Sioux County Sheriff’s offices, responded to the accident.

Two people were taken by air ambulance to hospitals in Sioux Falls and Sioux City.

Information is not available from the sheriff’s office.
